Spot a Spot and Save a Life Partnership
The Spot-A-Spot microskill course is designed to equip hairdressers, barbers and beauticians with the skills to recognise suspicious spots on their client’s head and neck. It’s hoped that the Spot-A-Spot course will encourage beauty industry professionals to confidently start conversations if they see something suspicious.
Australia has one of the highest rates of melanoma in the world, but 90% of melanomas can be successfully treated if caught early.
This important training product has been developed by TAFE NSW in conjunction with Hair and Beauty Australia, Keune, Airyday and the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation. The course can be completed in 45 minutes online and participants receive a course completion certificate.
A portion of enrolment fees will be donated to the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation to help fund research, awareness and early detection programs.
We’d like to thank and acknowledges those individuals who have contributed their time and expertise to develop the course, including Deborah Hutton, Dr Pascale Guitera, Danielle Fischer, Stephanie Friedlander, Maureen Harding.
