Leave a gift in your Will
Help make the future of melanoma research possible
A gift in your Will is a way to support something that matters to you for years to come.
By leaving a gift to the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation, you can help fund the next generation of Australian researchers working to prevent, detect and treat melanoma.
You may choose to leave a gift in memory of someone you have lost, as part of your family’s legacy, or simply because you believe in the importance of research.
Your family comes first
We understand that your loved ones are your priority when making your Will. A gift to AMRF can be made after you have provided for the people and causes that matter most to you.
There is no set amount required. Every gift has the potential to contribute to melanoma research in a meaningful way.
Thinking about leaving a gift?
You don’t need to make a decision today, and you don’t have to tell us if you have included AMRF in your Will.
If you would like to talk to us about leaving a gift, or simply find out more, we would be very happy to have a confidential conversation with you. You can reach out via the form below, or via email with our Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager, Isobel: isobel@melanomaresearch.com.au
“John dedicated much of his life to supporting others. He was widely known and respected for his generosity and ‘give everything to others’ approach to life.”

How to include AMRF in your Will
Your solicitor or legal adviser can help you decide what type of gift is right for you. This might be:
- a percentage of your estate
- a specific amount
- the residue of your estate after other gifts and expenses have been provided for.
We have provided suggested wording available in our Bequest Information Brochure that you can take to your solicitor or trustee company.
The Australian Melanoma Research Foundation has also partnered with Everywill, Australia’s leading online will-writing platform, to offer you a free, legally valid will in under 10 minutes. If you have already included AMRF in your Will
We’d love to thank you. You are not required to tell us that you have included AMRF in your Will, but letting us know gives us the opportunity to acknowledge your generosity and keep you connected with the research your gift will help make possible.
Thank you for considering a gift to melanoma research.
Remembering Maureen through Research
The Australian Melanoma Research Foundation is honoured to recognise the extraordinary legacy of Maureen Ellen James (1951–2025), whose generous gift through her estate will help advance melanoma research and support Australia’s next generation of researchers.
Maureen was a woman who lived a life full of adventure, friendship and purpose. But above all, she was someone who cared deeply about helping others. Her decision to leave a gift in her Will to AMRF means that her commitment to helping others will continue long into the future.
Through the Maureen Ellen James Memorial Award, her generosity is already supporting emerging research, including work by 2026 Research Award recipient Suzanah Boyd, who is investigating a blood test that could help identify melanoma patients at greater risk of their cancer returning.
Maureen’s story is a beautiful reminder that a gift in your Will can create a lasting legacy, supporting research and helping improve outcomes for people affected by melanoma for years to come.
