Professor Georgina Long AO and Professor Richard Scolyer AO are being awarded 2024 Australians of The Year for their research into melanoma. The awards are bringing more prominence to melanoma and more awareness amongst Australians, which can only be a good thing. We urge everyone to be more sun safe and have a regular skin check. As Georgina Long says, there is nothing healthy about a tan. A tan is an indication of skin under stress from too much UV radiation.
The AMRF congratulates Professors Long and Scolyer on their award. It’s well deserved recognition for their years of quality research at the Melanoma Institute Australia. The AMRF and MIA have a long-standing collaboration in securing funds for research into Melanoma and will be partnering once again in the 2024 Melanoma March community event.
